人生如建筑

去年底，在 M+ 看了贝聿铭的《人生如建筑》展览，最近翻手机发现录了在展览最后贝聿铭的一小段访谈，过了几个月再看，依然觉得非常动人。

It goes without saying that the responsibility one feels as am architect is a very great one. Once a building becomes brick and mortar, it’s there quite permanently. But that’s not bad. It’s just, sometimes one wished that building was never built. But if one tries hard enough and thinks deep enough, that object that one creates as an architect will be there and will remain there, to enrich the environment in which man lives.

So, I think, at the same time you have this great responsibility. But for precisely for the same reason, it also has great excitement.

身为建筑师，所承担的责任，是非常重大的。一旦一座建筑物成为实体，它就会长远地存在，但这并非坏事。有时候，也会希望那座建筑从未出现。但是，如果我们下一番苦工，并用心深入思考，建筑师所创造的事物（停顿了很久），就能屹立在那里，一直存在，令人们生活的环境变得更多姿多彩。

所以，我认为，建筑师同时肩负这个重大责任，但正因如此，它又带来了极大的快乐。

有时候，我觉得设计产品也有这样的感觉。
